About
My name is Manjula. I was born and raised in Chennai, India and I currently live in Austin, Texas.
I am not exactly sure when I started developing a passion for cooking. During my childhood I do not recollect helping my mom in the kitchen or cooking anything by myself.
In my early twenties is when I started my experiments in cooking. When I got married, my sister got me a set of cooking books written by “Mrs Mallika Badrinath” which I held on to like a Bible. When I came to US, I had nothing to do for the first few months except to continue my food experiments.
I love to eat out at restaurants and unfortunately being a vegetatrian there were not many in the Menu to pick and choose from. And that made me to start cooking the Vegetarian version of anything interesting I saw in the Menu.
Being a vegetarian should not limit you with just healthy and a bland diet. I want my food to me spicy, flavorful and sometimes unhealthy too.
Today, after perfecting and recreating many recipes, I hardly miss eating out. I can customize the recipe to suit my taste and fall in love with my creations.
I do not fear of trying recipes from different cuisine and so there is no off-limits to the ingredients or spices I use. I do not give up if I fail the first time, I try again and again until I perfect it. When I Perfect it, I Pen it down so I can share it with my friends and family.
I still cannot exaggerate how just putting a meal in front of somebody is really more of a buzz for me than anything. And I mean anything. Good food is a global thing and I find that there is always something new and amazing to learn – I love it.
I am so excited in sharing the recipes that are close my heart with all of you thru this Blog.
