This noodle recipe is a perfect one for those days you do not feel like cooking and too lazy to get takeout.
This noodle recipe is a perfect one for those days you do not feel like cooking and too lazy to get a takeout. With minimal cooking and few ingredients this dish comes together in just under 10 min. I usually take more than 10 min just to find my keys and get into the car. But there is no compromise in the flavor what so ever. You can substitute tofu for the chicken for a vegan version.
Ingredients
- 2 Tbsp. Sesame seeds slightly roasted.
- 4 green onions, finely chopped.
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 Tbsp. light soy sauce.
- 1 Tbsp. Chinese black vinegar (can substitute white vinegar)
- 1 Tbsp chill oil (with chili crisp in it). See notes.
- 1 Tbsp. sesame oil
- salt as required
- Chinese broccoli
- 1 pkg dry or fresh egg noodles
- Chicken or tofu
Instructions
- Marinade the chicken in soy sauce, salt and pepper. Fry it in pan and keep it aside.
- Coarsely grind the sesame seed in a mortar and transfer it in a bowl.
- Add the garlic in the mortar and crush it, then add the chopped green onions and salt and pound it together. Transfer in the same bowl as sesame seed.
- To that bowl add the soy sauce and vinegar.
- Add the chili oil along with some chili pieces from the bottle. Keep the sauce aside.
- Now cook the noodles according to the package directions. Just a few min before done, add the Chinese broccoli and cook for few more min.
- Drain the noodles and add it to a large bowl.
- Now to the hot noodles, add the sauce and toss it gently. The heat from the noodles will cook the garlic a bit and mellow down the flavor.
- Add in the the cooked chicken or Tofu.
- Toss it until the sauce coats all the protein and the noodles.
- Serve and enjoy.
